Sony apologises over preorder bungle

Sony has apologised for the chaos that engulfed pre-orders for the new Playstation 5.

Pre-orders went live haphazardly at different retailers on the same day Sony announced its boxes will launch on November 12 for $599/$749 AUD.

Many eager fans missed out as a result prompting this tweet overnight from Sony.

The Japanese tech giant has apologised, promising more PS5s will ship and be available before the end of the year.

No word on when the pre-orders will go live.

Sony has recently rejected reports that manufacturing issues would limit availability this holiday season.
