Sad news for developers and gamers today following the closure of Telltale Games.
This morning the majority of employees were told they no longer have jobs at the studio, with only 25 people to keep their positions to ‘fulfill the company’s obligations’.
Telltale put their name on the map with their story based series of ‘The Walking Dead’, as well as ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Tales from the Borderlands’ and ‘The Wolf Among Us’.
Telltale’s CEO, Pete Hawley, issued a brief statement online following the news, pointing the finger at poor sales and ‘insurmountable challenges’.
“With a heavy heart, we watch out friends leave today to spread our brand of storytelling across the games industry,” he said.
Future Telltale games ‘The Wolf Among Us 2’ and ‘Stranger Things’ have seemingly been cancelled.
