It’s confirmed!
Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) WILL return in Episode 9, and as previously promised she won’t be recreated using CGI.
Unreleased footage from The Force Awakens will seemingly be used to create movie magic and bring the beloved princess back to our screens.
It’s also confirmed Mark Hamill will be back (force ghost?), Anthony Daniels (C3PO), and Billy Dee Williams -reprising his role as the robot loving, Lando Calrissian.
New saga favourites Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac are also back to it (as expected).
The untitled movie has officially begun filming at London’s Pinewood Studios, with the film’s directer, JJ Abrams, taking to twitter signalling the first day on set.
JJ also sending a nod to The Last Jedi directer, Rian Johnson – and George Lucas, the man who started it all.
Bittersweet starting this next chapter without Carrie, but thanks to an extraordinary cast and crew, we are ready to go. Grateful for @rianjohnson and special thanks to George Lucas for creating this incredible world and beginning a story of which we are lucky to be a part. #IX pic.twitter.com/FOfnGwVut5

Episode IX is scheduled to release on December 20, 2019 – fingers crossed there’s no delays.
